DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 19, 2009) – With Poker quickly becoming the hot daytona-6212065new game for many people in the Central Florida area, Daytona Beach Kennel Club and Poker Room has quickly gained the reputation as one of the leading Poker Rooms in the State of Florida.

For the week ending January 18th, the Daytona Beach Kennel Club Poker Room set a new record reaching $181,500 in revenue and breaking the last record set in July 2008.

Mark Hayes, The Poker Room Manager said, “ The dealers, the jackpots, our creative tournaments as well as the professional World Series of Poker qualifying Tournament, came together perfectly to give us this record setting week.”

“The World Series of Poker qualifying tournaments have been steadily increasing with new players. On Sunday January 18, 2009, the Poker Room had its best Sunday ever hosting a record number 521 players,” Hayes also said.

In May 2008, Daytona Beach Kennel Club and Poker Room moved to a new facility after sixty years in the same location. “The Poker Room in our new facility has 50 tables and more of a Las Vegas feel”, said Dan Francati, General Manager. “We have also realigned our Marketing efforts to compliment our tournaments as well as provided a more relaxed, comfortable environment for the player,” Francati said.

“Not only are we pleased with the record in poker, but we saw a resurgence in the 50 Cent Day Racing Matinee on Monday January 19th. Our concession and dining areas set a new record by selling 1,650 hot dogs in 3 hours,” said Francati.
