Airport teams give back with free holiday meals for the military

It’s the season of giving, and many of Delaware North’s airport teams are getting in the spirit by spreading holiday cheer to the armed forces. To show appreciation for the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform, several Delaware North-operated units are making plans to provide free meals on either Christmas Day or New Year’s Day as military members travel through airports around the country.

“We want to take time this holiday season to say thank you to the brave men and women who keep us uso-1789714safe around the world,” said Kevin Kelly, president of Delaware North’s travel business. “Our teams take pride in being able to give back to those in the armed forces by serving them a great meal as they travel home to visit loved ones.”

Delaware North teams at Los Angeles International Airport, Ontario International Airport in California and Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, Okla. will be cooking and serving free holiday meals for all active duty military members at their airport’s United Service Organization (USO) outpost on Christmas Day. Teams at Denver International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will be providing similar meals on New Year’s Day.

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport will be offering a free entrée and drink for active duty military members at Delaware North-operated restaurants from Sunday, Dec. 25, through Sunday, Dec. 31. Participating locations at the airport include: Air Meals, Copeland’s Gourmet Kitchen, Copeland’s Cheesecake Scoop Café, Dooky Chase, Le Petit Bistro, PJ’s Coffee, West Beignet, WOW Café and Wingery! and Zatarain’s kiosk.

Tampa International Airport and TPA Hospitality Partners will again be offering a similar appreciation meal for military members, who can enjoy a free meal at RumFish Grill, Four Green Fields, Chick-fil-A, Plane Box kiosk or Auntie Anne’s.
