Grand Canyon starts employee bike program

In addition to being just plain fun, riding a bike also promotes several environmental and health benefits, including improving physical and mental health, saving gas money and producing zero emissions.

That’s why it’s hardly a surprise that Delaware North’s employee bike rental program at Grand Canyon grandcanyonbikes_action_360-9245260National Park has been a hit since its recent launch.

Recognizing the benefits of bicycling for both transportation and recreation, Delaware North purchased 14 beach cruisers equipped with baskets and complimentary helmets for its associates at Grand Canyon. The program has been a resounding success, with all 14 cruisers having already been issued to enthusiastic employees. The process is simple: Associates sign up, register their bike for the season and provide a refundable damage deposit.

Mike Keller, Delaware North’s general manager at the Grand Canyon, noted that he is very pleased with the program thus far and looks forward to its continued success. Based on current demand from associates, plans are underway for Keller and Environmental Manager Lucas Selness to explore expanding the program.
