Chairman serves as panelist at Global Sports Summit; Delaware North’s recipes also take center stage

Delaware North Chairman Jeremy Jacobs, who has owned the NHL’s Boston Bruins since 1975, served as mrjacobs21-4553187a panelist at the recent Global Sports Summit in Aspen, Colo.

Mr. Jacobs, who is also the chairman of the NHL Board of Governors, discussed succession planning. The private boardroom-style discussion was intended to share best practices and lessons learned when it comes to team ownership transitions, and as such, Delaware North co-CEOs Jerry Jacobs Jr. and Lou Jacobs – both alternate governors for the Bruins – were in attendance.

The event – billed as a rare and powerful gathering of franchise owners from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, European Football and other professional sports teams globally – also featured Delaware North recipes for both food and cocktails. The staff at the St. Regis Aspen Resort served Delaware North’s recipe for tamarind duck tacos with nectarine relish, grilled scallops on crostini with pesto, and red and yellow gazpacho shooters. As for the cocktails, all five signature drinks that were created as part of Delaware North’s 100th anniversary – the Buffalo Old Fashioned, The Gold Standard, Century Sidecar, 1915 Cosmopolitan, and the Millennium Margarita (winner of the company’s internal contest) – were served during the event’s reception.
