Jumer’s makes it a three-peat at martini competition

For the third consecutive year, a team from the Delaware North-owned-and-operated Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, Ill., took home an award at HAVlife Foundation’s annual Martini Shakeoff.

The Jumer’s team – Brian Kumrow, Stefanie DeHaven, Shawn Timmerman, Ashley Emerson, Josh Cavanagh, Layne Bohley and Dan Braasch – was recognized for having the best martini in the Bartender’s martinishakeoff360-4051148Choice category.

The event, which was held on Feb. 18, was attended by more than 1,500 people and raised about $100,000 for HAVlife – a charitable organization that works to eliminate “lost potential” in youth by making it possible for children to participate in music, arts and athletic programs. HAVlife founder Mike Vondran says the organization also handed out more than $100,000 in scholarships and awards to 11 local organizations during the course of the evening.
