Delaware North celebrates opening of Orange City Racing & Card Club

Delaware North on March 1 celebrated the official opening of Orange City Racing & Card Club, a new state-of-the-art poker room and racing simulcasting venue. The complex will also be home to Jake’s 29° Sports Bar & Grill, a full-service restaurant and bar that is expected to open soon.

oc_ribbon_cutting-7420003The morning began with remarks from Fred Guzman (president and general manager of Orange City Racing & Card Club), Gary Blair (mayor of Orange City) and Ed Kelley (Volusia County chairperson).

“We wanted to surpass the high standards we set at our location in Daytona,” said Fred Guzman, president and general manager of both Orange City Racing & Card Club and Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club. “We wanted to build a place that we could all be proud of, and a place that the community can be proud of. I truly believe we’ve done that, and we’re excited to share it with you.”

Orange City Racing & Card Club, which is a sister location to the award-winning Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club, will feature 33 tables of cash-game action and popular games such as Texas Hold’em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha and Seven-Card Stud. The poker room will be open 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. Friday through the weekend to 4 a.m. Monday. Simulcast wagering on horse racing from the country’s premier racetracks and greyhound racing from Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club and Sanford-Orlando Kennel Club will also be available daily.

Jake’s 29° Sports Bar & Grill will boast a 50-inch sports ticker and 44 televisions throughout the restaurant, featuring a mix of sports, scores and simulcast races, and a perfect view for every seat. The restaurant and sports bar will have an innovative, pub-style menu with handcrafted dishes, including signature burgers, wings, specialty salads and more. Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant will feature a selection of 29 different ice-cold beers – all delivered by a special cooling tap system and stored and poured at a frosty 29 degrees. And as an appropriate coincidence, Jake’s 29° Sports Bar & Grill is located just below the Earth’s 29-degree north latitudinal line. Jake’s 29° Sports Bar & Grill’s 29-degree system will offer 12 different taps, including local craft beers, as part of the total selection of 29 varieties of domestic, imported and craft beers to go along with specialty cocktails and mixed drinks.
