Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City kicked off the holiday travel season on Nov. 25 by launching its live music program.
Partnering with the airport is Delaware North, the airport’s food and beverage partner. Delaware North 
will host live performances in its Cross Grain Brewhouse and Redbud Lounge. The company also provided the sound equipment for the performance areas.
“Delaware North was immediately on-board with the development of a program at Will Rogers World Airport,” said Michael Moses, Delaware North’s general manager at the airport. “Music at the airport allows people to relax, take a breath and enjoy their trip. We wanted to be a part of that.”
The program, dubbed Jet Sets, was introduced to the traveling public on a customized stage near the west concourse of the terminal building. The program aims to enhance the traveler experience at the airport and promote the local music culture and talent in the region.
“Providing live music is all about enriching the Will Rogers World Airport experience,” said Airports Director Mark Kranenburg. “The goal is twofold: We want to show our visitors, those visiting the city as well as our local residents, the abundance of talent in our community, and we want travelers to be able to relax and take a break from some of the stress of traveling.”
Performing at the launch event were singer-songwriter Susan Herndon and jazz saxophonist Chris Hicks. Upcoming musicians include Susan Herndon, Chris Hicks, Jason Cadamy, Jamie Bramble and Jason Scott. Jet Sets will average two live performances per week at the main public stage in the concourse, with additional performances during peak travel times. Delaware North will have a similar schedule in its lounges.
Airport officials foresee the program expanding in the future.
“There is much potential for this program to grow,” Kranenburg said. “The enthusiasm from musicians and other potential partners has only reinforced our commitment to Jet Sets.”
