APOLLO 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
MEDIA INFORMATION
 
Media credentials for entrance to the 40th Anniversary of Apollo events at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex are primarily given to representatives covering the event for news outlets. Before receiving credentials for the event, we require the representative to provide proof through their organization credentials or an official assignment letter from the news outlet. Download the form below and fax or email to the Public Relations Department at 321-452-3043 or jmcrae@dncinc.com. Forms must be returned by Monday, July 13.

8:30/8:45 a.m. - Media arrival for equipment inspection and check-in at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
 
9:00 a.m. – Bus departs for the Apollo/Saturn V Center
 
9:30 a.m. – Press briefing with astronauts Walt Cunningham, Buzz Aldrin, Edgar Mitchell, Al Worden and Charlie Duke in the Firing Room Theater at the Apollo/Saturn V Center
 
10:00 a.m. - Sneak preview of the new Apollo Treasures Gallery
 
11:00 a.m. - Apollo 40th Anniversary Celebration, featuring:
  • Walt Cunningham, Lunar Module Pilot, Apollo 7
  • Buzz Aldrin, Lunar Module Pilot, Apollo 11
  • Edgar Mitchell, Lunar Module Pilot, Apollo 14
  • Al Worden, Command Module Pilot, Apollo 15
  • Charlie Duke, Lunar Module Pilot, Apollo 16
  • Vance Brand, Apollo Command Module Pilot, Apollo-Soyuz Test Project; Apollo 8 and 13 support crewman, Apollo 15 backup command module pilot
  • Jerry Carr, Capsule Communicator (CAPCOM) for Apollo 8 and 12, Skylab 4

12:15 p.m.- Apollo Treasures Gallery opening, a new exhibit showcasing treasures from the Apollo moon missions.
 
12:30& 1:00 p.m. - Media return to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Please note: The Apollo/Saturn V Center is located within Kennedy Space Center, and transportation must be provided to members of the media covering the event. Transportation to the event site to attend only the Apollo 40th Anniversary Celebration and Apollo Treasures Gallery opening from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. is available upon request.
 
LIVE TELEVISION CREWS
If you are planning to cover the events live on July 16 at the Apollo/Saturn V Center or plan to broadcast live at any time that day, click here to apply for badging via the NASA/Kennedy Space Center Media Accreditation website. Please include in the notes area: "Apollo 11 40th Anniv Media Event - KSC Visit Cmplx."

Deadline for U.S. citizens to apply for credentials is Monday, July 13.
 
The deadline has already passed for foreign nationals to apply for bading.
